Guitart
Guitar Number One
It began as a seized opportunity. One of my sons was working at a stringed instrument store. The shop would occasionally end up with instruments that couldn't be played well and were not worth the cost of repairing. Guitars, ukuleles and fiddles. And so began Guitart and Cool Ukes
The design of Guitart No. 1 wraps around the back in this colorful design. The Guitar is strung and ready to play. Attractive as wall art
Drip Technique Cool Uke
Cool Uke Number One
This little ukulele holds a ton of color. Such fun to do. The wrap around design of this colorful little instrument continues onto the back.
Guitart Number Two
Another colorfuldesign ready for any musical wall
Cool Uke Number Two
This ukulele was suspended above my work table from a ceiling hook. I was painting three ukuleles at one time.
Starry Night Ukulele
It struck me that Van Gough's "Starry Night" might look good on a Ukulele.
Cool Uke Number four
This was a well-used ukulele that now has a new look.
Again, I had three ukes hanging above my work table.
Cool Uke Number Six
These little instruments are easy to handle. When decorating a guitar I find the long neck knocks over items on the work table.
Drip Guitart
I stood this guitar upside down and led the color ooze down the sides and then added some contrasting colors and ink outlining
Painted Mandolin
Starry Night Guitar
The Starry Night ukulele came out well enough but i wanted to take it further for this guitar. It was painted with artists oils on a pure white shellac base. The design wraps seamlessly around the sides and back of the guitar.
Cool Uke
The Cool Ukes were becoming quite popular and my son thought they should be painted on a better grade of ukulele. So he started bringing home new mahogany ukuleles to use as my canvases.
