Goats are the bleating lawnmowers for California suburban open spaces and water reservoir lands. Their munching clears the land and eliminates a fire hazard. As many as three-hundred at a time are left to graze on grassy areas, confined only by a single electrical wire. While I sketched this group, I could hear the twigs snapping in the brush and sounds of their continual munching.
